The Provincial Priory of Durham

Durham Provincial Priory was held on 22nd of April 2023 in Gateshead. The Provincial Chancellor, V.E.Kt. John McCully, E.Kt. Dennis Dean and E.Kt. Norman Playford accompanied the Provincial Prior R.E.Kt. David Jordan to the north east of England.

The Durham Provincial Banner

They went to witness the newly installed Provincial Sub Prior E.Kt. Stephen Allen, appointed eight days ago, and the Durham Provincial Prior R.E.Kt. Richard Scott received an £5000 sword shaped cheque from the Durham Provincial Grand Master R.W.Bro John Paul Thompson for their 50th anniversary of the Durham Province’s appeal to raise £100,000 for the St. John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital.

A splendid well run meeting by the new Provincial Vice-Chancellor and an equally excellent festive board were enjoyed by all present. The visiting team from Kent viewed the Angel of the North on their way home after the meeting and exclaimed what a wonderful sculpture.
