The Great Priory of Malta

On the 10th of October 2025 at Grand Lodge, Great Queen’s Street, London, the Most Eminent and Supreme Grand Master Paul Raymond Clement G.C.M. gave permission for the Great Prior of Malta, R.E.Kt. Charles Whitaker K.C.M., to open the Great Priory of Malta.

This he did for the last time because he was succeeded by V.E.Kt. Dr. Nigel Francis John Scott-Moncrieff installed by the Grand Master. During the Malta degree three Knights were install as Knights of Malta and there were two Knights of Kent on the Grand Masters Bodyguard namely E.Kt. Andrew Waddington and E.Kt. Pierre Ambrody.

During the ceremony R.E.Kt. Charles Whitaker K.C.M was honoured by being installed as a Knight of the Grand Cross of the United orders by the Grand Master. The Grand Master promoted his son E.Kt. Lewis Clement to Great Sword bearer. Also taking an active role was E.Kt. Philip Clare as Great Captain of Outposts.

There were a large number of Kent knights present to see V.E.Kt. Dennis Fountain P.Gt. Registrar and E.Kt. Mark Wright. Gt. Captain of Guards received their Great Priory Ranks.
