The Annual Knights of Malta meeting of Kent Bodyguard Priory No.552

On the 14th of February 2026 at Gillingham Masonic Hall the Kent Bodyguard Priory No.552 held its annual Knights of Malta meeting with E.Kt. Andrew Waddington in the chair. He installed five candidates into the order in an excellent manner.

Banner Guard

The Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard formed the Banner guard, the Accolade was given by the R.E.Kt. Jordan and the jewels of the order were presented by E.Kt. Swinge. The Banners lecture was delivered by E.Kt. Woodgate, the approach of the Knights and Pentagonal table by E.Kt. Chun and the Octagonal table by E.Kt. Lines.

There were two joining members to the Priory namely E.Kt. D. Martin and Kt. M. Wright who was warmly welcomed into the Preceptory. The Eminent Prior asked the Provincial Prior if he would open a Provincial Priory to invest his Malta Provincial officers present. There were six officers to be presented to the Provincial Prior and he congratulated each Knight on their Promotion or reappointment.

The Provincial Prior presented a Bodyguard mantle badge to Kt. Geluz-Bustos on reaching the requirements to become a member of the Provincial Prior’s Bodyguard. There were fifty knights in attendance and after the closing later retired to the refectory.
